Eight hectares of manicured lawns and beautiful gardens set the perfect surround for a day of exploring.

The gardens are pram and wheelchair friendly. Next time we’d take the kids' scooters so their little legs don’t get tired.

There is so much to see with 4 different circuits

  • Botanic Circuit 1500m
  • Subtropical Walk 350m
  • Rainforest Walk 300m
  • Bicentennial Walk 250m

Highlights of the gardens would have to be:

  • Amphitheatre (a greek style circular structure with rows of seats).
  • Dinosaur dig (children’s sandpit play area)
  • Shade garden (open Monday to Friday and 9 am & Noon on the first Sunday of each month)
  • A lily pond
  • Zen garden
  • Open-air chapel

The kids' favorite parts were the amphitheater and the dinosaur dig.

You can also enjoy a picnic on the bank of Lake MacDonald or in one of the many beautiful spots around the gardens.

Public amenities and drinking water fountains are available, check the map for locations.

Happy exploring.
